Experts developed mosquito repellent fabrics from graphene
Graphene is a flexible substance, which is used to make solar cells. One day it will also be used to make foldable phones. Graphene is also very effective in removing mosquitoes. The carbon-based material graphene can also change its behavior.
This research was published in this week's "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences" journal.
The study says that graphene blocks all chemical signals that attract mosquitoes and other insects.
Unfortunately graphene oxide is not so effective when wet, but when used with graphene with low oxygen content (rGO), it prevents mosquito bites in both dry and wet conditions. One of the disadvantages of rGO is that if its tents are built it will not be able to breathe properly.
Quickly graphene will be used in other products such as jackets, battery packs, shoes and more.
