The black is darker now. Scientists at MIT have accidentally created a substance, which is 10 times darker than the darkest material available.
According to the report, the substance can absorb 99.995% of incoming light. It is made of vertically mounted carbon nanotubes. They are made of chlorine-coated aluminum foil. Interestingly, it was created by accident. ۔
In fact, experts were experimenting with electromagnetic materials such as aluminum to make carbon nanotubes. For this they were enhancing their electrical and thermal properties. The colors of the results surprised the experts. Soon they realized what they had actually created.
Currently, the discovery is being demonstrated at The Redemption of Vanity Exhibition on the New York Stock Exchange, where it has been wrapped around 16.78ct natural yellow diamonds worth $ 2 million. Experts say the material will be used in the field of archeology and in telescopes.
